PATRICK JAMES CHRISTIAN, PH.D.

Dr. Patrick James Christian is a psychoanalytical anthropologist specializing in the psychopathology of violent ethnic and cultural conflicts.

He serves as an adjunct professor at USSOCOM’s Joint Special Operations University and is the managing partner of Valka-Mir Human Security R&D, currently under contract with USASOC’s J.F.K. Special Warfare Center & School. In this role, he leads research and development of advanced military social science programs focused on non-lethal targeting, field engagement, and intervention strategies for Army Special Forces, Civil Affairs, and Psychological Operations personnel.

As a retired U.S. Army Special Forces officer, Dr. Christian brings extensive field research and operational experience from regions including Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala, the Somali-Ogaden and Oromo areas of Ethiopia, Darfur (Sudan), Chad, Niger, Kenya, Morocco, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
